The fine print
Accessibility
A lighthouse that some people can’t reach isn’t finished. Accessibility is part of this site’s standard, not an accommodation to it.
This site is built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA, including:
- Full keyboard navigation, with visible focus states and a skip link.
- Color contrast at or above AA on every text element, including the gold, which uses a darker cut for text on light grounds and a brighter cut for text on dark ones.
prefers-reduced-motionhonored everywhere. The site has cinematic moments… a turning beam, a dawn that warms on scroll, light that breathes… and every one of them holds still, with the content fully legible, for anyone who asks it to.- A calm mode switch in the menu, for anyone who wants the quiet version on demand: it holds all motion still and lifts contrast. Your choice is remembered on your device only.
- Semantic structure and landmarks for assistive technology.
- No motion-dependent or hover-only content; nothing is gated on scripting.
If anything here is hard for you to use, that is a defect… please tell us and we will fix it: hello@becomelighthouse.com.
